“The Big G Classic Community Weekend is a two-day event that stands as the cornerstone of TEAM BGC’s mission”

Launched in July 2021, this annual gathering features youth and men’s basketball tournaments, alongside a vibrant Small Business Vendor Market. It has quickly become the premier event for the community, blending sports, entrepreneurship, and togetherness to honor the legacy of Gerald “Big G” Campbell Sr.

The two-day event features a basketball tournament showcasing top-tier talent from the Capital District, Upstate New York, and beyond, alongside a variety of local small businesses and entrepreneurs offering products, services, and even complimentary haircuts for the youth. Since its inception, the Big G Classic Community Weekend has attracted over 800 athlete participants, more than 50 small businesses, and consistently draws an average attendance of over 1,000 each weekend.
